Is there really a Marxist influence in the university? Isn’t that musty Cold War stuff?
Actually, the nostrums and pseudoscience of Karl Marx are still very much alive on the campuses, with bushel baskets of Marxists and socialists augmented by a much smaller cadre of actual communists.
The Neo-Marxist confabulation of “critical theory” occupies many scholars, while a crypto-Maoist version permeates American education schools.
I talked about this and other subjects with Robbie Robertson, and here find my 8-minute take on Marxism and the attitudes of these characters who never live the lives that they would wish upon the rest of us. They’ve been called Champagne Socialists and, I would say quite accurately, Millionaire Marxists.
Academia has been overly kind to the Vanguard that would lead us all to the utopia of bread lines and ration cards.
Robbie: “What do you think of Marxism?”
Here’s my response.
